Abstract: |
78 trial trenches were excavated at the site, and two archaeological features recorded. These consisted of a possible prehistoric hollow, containing numerous heat-cracked stones but no dating evidence. An unrelated and undated gully, probably part of a field system, was recorded to the east. Residual finds included a probable Neolithic or Bronze age flint flake, two sherds of Roman pottery and one sherd of 12th/13th century pottery. 19th and 20th century pottery was founds across the site, as well as a ridge and furrow field system. No features relating to the WWII airfield RAF Warwick survived. [Au(adp)] |
