Abstract: |
The burial of an Anglo-Saxon female accompanied by a range of grave goods was discovered during the construction of new flats. The grave goods included two copper alloy brooches, a copper alloy pin, a necklace of amber beads, an iron knife and a second inidentifed iron object. The burial was likely to be 6th century in date and was almost certainly part of a larger cemetery, destroyed by later construction. The burial was at the time of discovery unique in the parish.
