Abstract: |
The construction of a new public house in Durham warranted the excavation of five sample trenches. Four of these trenches showed only evidence of post-medieval cellars and modern rubbish dumping. The fifth trench, however, revealed that below these deposits medieval soil horizons, including pits, soil layers and other features had previously existed. [Au] |
