Abstract:		 <summary>A watching brief was undertaken on groundworks during housing development. This revealed pits of uncertain date (some possibly prehistoric, others late Roman or early medieval) containing flints only, probable Roman building material, fragments of lava and one sherd of Samian. This indicates Roman activity in the area.
