Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during ground-works for new residential properties. A previous desk-based assessment of the development area had indicated some archaeological potential. Unfortunately the potential for archaeological remains on the site could not now be judged as on-site work before the archaeological visit had reduced the ground level by up to 1.5m. The level at which archaeological remains may have survived had therefore been effectively removed. Inspection of the remaining spoil heaps and site boundaries did not reveal any artefacts as indication of any archaeological activities. [Au(abr)] |
