Abstract: |
After a fire which caused extensive damage salvage excavation work was undertaken. The programme of archaeological works comprised three tasks: the excavation and removal of debris, the retrieval of structural elements, fittings and decorative material contained therein, according to the requirements of the architect and of English Heritage; and the sorting, packaging and archive recording of the artefacts retrieved. This was achieved very satisfactorily. [Au(adp)] |
