Abstract: |
A watching brief during trenching along Smeath Road produced no archaeological observations. Most of the trench cut through recently disturbed ground from adjacent existing services and a backfilled roadside ditch. Trenching along Tiln Lane past Bolham Hall had been completed before the work was notified. Vestigial traces of earthworks (thought to be medieval settlement or cultivation remains) were identified in the pasture fields SE of Bolham Hall, and other remains may have survived immediately west of the Hall.
