Abstract:		 The assessment was undertaken prior to the construction of the water main. No structured archaeological investigations were known to have been carried out in the immediate route area, but a number of sites of archaeological or historical interest had been identified. At the southern end of the route, Rothern Bridge was a Scheduled Ancient Monument and was also Listed Grade II. Other features of interest in this area included Torrington Railway Station and Rolle Canal. [Au(adp)]
