Abstract: |
Archaeological excavation investigated a possible manorial bank on the periphery of Benjamin Britten High School due to be levelled for the construction of a new access road to a new middle school. Initial investigation revealed an open ditch on the site but the excavation failed to locate the remains of the bank which was expected to be associated with the extant ditch. The identification of plough lines close to the ditch suggests that if the bank ever existed that it was possibly removed by ploughing at an early date. [Au(abr)] |
