Abstract: |
A programme of test pitting revealed a large pit feature, possibly dating to the late medieval period, undated feature, and the edge of a large medieval ditch. Observation and recording of the demolition and groundworks associated with the redevelopment of the site revealed widespread disturbance, as well as post-medieval and modern features. The large medieval enclosure ditch followed the anticipated course to the west of the site, though it had been heavily disturbed by the construction of fuel tanks and associated services to the south-western part of the site.
