Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential and commercial development. The surrounding area was rich in Romano-British remains, and a possible enclosure had been identified on aerial photographs of the site, defined on the ground as a slight depression. During the evaluation, no archaeological features were encountered and only small quantities of undated building material and animal bone were recovered. It was concluded that the depression had been of natural origin, possibly representing a partially silted, small meandering watercourse or oxbow. [Au(adp)] |
