Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based assessment, supported by preliminary field survey, of an area of mine-workings subject to proposed land reclamation and shaft-capping works was undertaken. There were no visible structures connected with the 19th century working of the mine, although buried structures and foundations were thought likely to exist on the site. A total of eight definite shafts and four possible shafts were identified during the survey, and only three shafts remained open. Extensive dumps derived from the copper mining were identified across most of the site and in many places were found not to have been disturbed. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
