Abstract: |
The evaluation did not reveal any significant archaeological remains: trench 1 was wholly truncated by a basement thought to have been constructed in the later 19th century, in association with a brewery that once operated on the site. Trench 2 exhibited modern and post-medieval deposits and features including a truncated sump, rubbish pit and ditch cutting the natural. These features were dated to the late 17th to 19th centuries.
