Abstract:		 Five trenches were excavated to evaluate the archaeological implications of proposed residential development at the Devon County Council Highways depot at Dowell Street. Much of the site was found to have a low archaeological potential, mostly as a result of the groundwork operations linked to the establishment and use of the depot occupying the site. Colluvial deposits with a higher archaeological potential were located in limited areas within the proposed development site. [Au]
