Abstract:
Three surveyors' boreholes were drilled within a church, two of which were observed by archaeologists. At Location 'A', the drilling encountered a 0.3m space beneath the floorboards, above a material which appeared to represent either backfill or make-up. This sealed a further deposit of probable backfill, above a possible vault represented by a void. Borehole 'B' was abandoned at a depth of 0.8m, where solid masonry was encountered. The masonry included possibly re-used fragments of Kentish ragstone. [Au(adp)]
