Abstract: |
Archaeological observation of construction work recorded medieval pits dating back to the 13th/14th century, along with some residual 12th/13th-century pottery. Most of the features dated to the 15th/16th centuries, including cess and rubbish pits and a group of clay-lined pits, probably used for tanning, an activity known from documentary evidence to have been carried out in this part of the town.
