Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at areas A and C of a site where a previous evaluation had revealed medieval quarry pits and pottery. Civil War defences were thought to have crossed the edge of the site. During the watching brief, a sherd of pottery dated 1550-1750 was recovered, and an undated gravel pit was found. It was concluded that any surviving deposits would continue to survive beneath the development. No further work was recommended on this part of the site, although it was noted that the planning condition had not been discharged with regard to area B.[AIP] |
