Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed the remains of a building, 0.3 metres below the surface of the present car park and cut into a post-medieval buried soil. The building dated to the 19th century AD or later. A stone-flagged surface of a similar date was probably part of the same structure. The building may have been associated with the Dawley Manor Farm which stood nearby. Alluvial deposits were observed directly underneath the stone-flagged surface and to the east and west of the building. Finds were otherwise limited to modern deposits associated with the construction of the hotel. [Au] |
