Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment and field evaluation were carried out in connection with proposed development at the Bristol Sewage Treatment Works. The assessment established the potential for recovering prehistoric and medieval deposits in the area. The evaluation revealed a significant quantity of later prehistoric pottery, and although no features were found it indicated the presence of contemporary activity within the immediate area. Two medieval/post-medieval ditches uncovered may have been indicative of enclosures or other land management activity. Pottery sherds provided evidence for medieval occupation close by. [Au(abr)] |
