Abstract: |
Archaeological observation was held over the excavation of test-pits to establish the nature of the geological deposits in the vicinity of the proposed new road. No archaeological features or finds were recorded or recovered from any of the test-pits. However, these were located away from any of the known archaeology, and only covered 0.35% of the area to be affected by the development. It was recommended that along the length of the route, an archaeological presence should be maintained during all earthmoving phases of the construction, in order to record any exposures of archaeological deposits and features.
