Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out ahead of a proposed new visitors centre at Creswell Crags which partially sat within a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Although no direct evidence of Pleistocene or Holocene archaeological material was discovered, it was noted that there remained the potential for localised areas of weathered rock, rock shelves and fissures within the proposed new building footprint to contain such material.
