Abstract: |
The rebuilding works of the floodbanks at Maiden Castle were due to take place in the vicinity of a SAM. A scheme of works was instigated which included archaeological trial trenching and monitoring. Below the topsoil, layers of river silts were uncovered. No archaeological features were identified during the trial trenching and monitoring. The finds recovered were all of post-medieval/modern date. No further schemes of archaeological works were recommended in connection with this development. [Au(abr)] |
