Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on a small plot between two buildings. The site lay within the area of a burial ground which had been in use from 1754 until 1853. Coffins were discovered in situ at depths of below 2m from ground level. A brick-built burial vault was recorded. Residual human remains were collected for reburial on site, whilst the coffins were left undisturbed. It was concluded that a modification of the proposed foundations would be necessary.[AIP] |
