Abstract: |
<summary2>A watching brief was carried out during a trench excavation required to provide repair access to the sewer beneath Tower Street. The trench was located c20m north of the base of the mound of Clifford's Tower, possibly within the moat around the motte and within the later Franciscan friary. However, there appeared to be no surviving archaeological deposits in the immediate area of the trench; the insertion of the sewer or other modern works could account for this. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1992.1017 (YAT investigation identification no) |
