Abstract: |
Test-pitting, trial trenching, open area excavation and sieving was carried out on the proposed development site. No archaeological features were identified on the site but 416 flint/churt were recovered, 296 were worked. The tools comprised of discoidal scrapers, end scrapers, serrated flakes, bradelets, retouched pieces and microliths. The technology was possibly geared to bradelet production with crested blades, bradelet core trimming flakes and bradelet cored. The assemblage possibly represents a Late Mesolithic hunting camp or base camp or winter camp. [Au(abr)] |
