Abstract: |
A trial excavation and area excavation was carried out on the site. A 12th-13th century burgage plot, containing the remains of stone lined drains and light industrial material was identified. In the 14th century the town was levelled out and gullies and beam slots were identified on the site from this period. The site was abandoned in the late medieval period and the next use of the site was the building of a mill in the 18th century. [Au(abr)] |
