The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the excavation of footings and associated groundwork for a small residential development. The development site had been heavily truncated by quarrying in modern times and only a narrow strip of relatively undisturbed ground, c.15m wide, remained on its northern edge. In this area there were three pits, one of which contained 13th century pottery, another 15th/16th century pottery. The bases of two 13th century pottery vessels were found embedded in the subsoil. There was no evidence for any structural remains bordering on to Avondale Road. [Au(abr)]
