Abstract: |
Five trenches were excavated and revealed evidence in the southern half of the site for quarrying, perhaps in the 19th century. The northern part of the site contained natural brick-earth over gravel. The weathered upper level of the brick-earth contained late Roman pottery and prehistoric flints. A Saxon pit cut the brick-earth. [Au(adp)] |
