Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundations for a house within the grounds of a manor. Part of a moat and the remains of a probable fish pond lay nearby, whilst evidence of the medieval settlement of Fringford and of a Romano-British farmstead had been excavated within the village. During the watching brief, two features were recorded which may have been part of the robber trench of a wall. Probable post-medieval pit-fills were observed, and a small amount of medieval and post-medieval pottery was recovered. Rubbly deposits which probably represented landscaping activity were noted.
