Abstract: |
Four evaluation trenches were excavated on the site. A series of pits, a gully and post holes were found dating from the Roman period, relating to agricultural activity. Medieval field boundaries, pits and a pottery kiln were identified. The medieval use of the site seemed to be a mixture of agricultural and industrial and the presence of early post-medieval pottery on the site suggested continued use of the area for pottery.
