Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the site. Two succesive phase of waterfront were identified. The earliest was possibly 16th/17th in date and was constructed from square slabs and robbed brickwork. The second phase was built in the late 17th century and was built of more substantial brick. Behind the clay embankments backfilled deposits containing 19th century finds and residual 17th to 18th century deposits were identified. [Au(abr)] |
