Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches for an extension. The site lay close to a Roman villa and temple, in an area where extensive Roman occupation had occurred. Neolithic finds and two bronze age settlements had been recorded in the vicinity. The site had been truncated by 19th century services and a cellar. It was concluded that no further archaeological work would be necessary. [AIP] |
