Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping and reduction of ground levels in connection with the construction of a relief road, in an area where significant archaeological deposits had been identified. Land drains and the remains of medieval ridge and furrow were observed, and pottery of Roman, medieval and post-medieval date was recovered. Other artefacts included clay pipe, glass, iron objects and roof tile. [AIP] |
