Abstract: |
An evaluation consisting of test pitting and augering was carried out as part of the Medina Crossing environmental assessment. Forty-seven test pits were dug but only one produced a feature. It was cut into the clay and contained modern tile. Other finds from the test pits were mainly post-medieval. No evidence was found for significant archaeological deposits or shipwrecks. Augering was employed to test for the presence of peat deposits within the mudflats, but no evidence was found. [Au(abr)] |
