Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of a single 14m by 2m trench, was undertaken in response to a condition on planning permission for the erection of two residential detached houses. The trench contained no significant archaeological remains, although the soil profile was relatively intact below modern surfacing. Evidence of previous activity was limited to the Edwardian era and subsequent 20th century development, related to the construction and use of the existing property at 110 Ridgway. There was no evidence of prehistoric activity, and the trench was also devoid of Saxon and medieval material. [Au(adp)] |
