Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of five trial trenches, was undertaken following proposals for the construction of five dwellings on the site. The earliest feature found was a late 18th or early 19th century brick-built wall foundation in the northern corner of the site, which may have related to some buildings shown on late 19th and early 20th century OS maps. The report concluded that there was no evidence in the evaluation trenches for settlement or human activity on the site before the later post-medieval period. [Au(abr)] |
