Abstract: |
A fluxgate gradiometer survey was carried out in advance of the proposed housing development. A total of 0.8ha was examined. Several features of geotechnical interest were mapped by the geological survey; these principally comprised deposits of brick or ferrous debris. A pattern of positive magnetic linear anomalies provided tentative evidence for several silted ditches which may have reflected a former field system or other form of enclosure. These features, together with subsoil anomalies of geotechnical interest, may warrant further investigation via a scheme of selective trial trenching. [Au(adp)] |
