Abstract: |
Nineteen evaluation trenches were excavated on the site. A small number of undated truncated ditches were found on the north of the site. An 18th century viewing platform was identified and in the middle of the site, ridge and furrow and coal mining activity were recorded. In southern part of the site a gully was identified. Some of the coal mining appeared to predate the ridge and furrow, suggesting coal extraction was taking place in the medieval phase of the site. [Au(abr)] |
