Abstract: |
A desk-based study of land proposed for a housing development identified that the proposal site lay to the south west of Brickhampton Court Farm, the location of a moated medieval site and a deserted medieval village. There were, however, no earthworks or outward signs of medieval occupation in the immediate vicinity of the site, although traces of ridge and furrow could be seen to the east, and a large ditch forming the north eastern boundary of the site was thought to concieveably be a remnant of the moat which would have surrounded the manor house at Brickhampton Court.
