Abstract: |
The first phase of evaluation established the presence of two large features and a deposit of demolition rubble, which may have been the fill of a large feature. The deposits were dated to the late medieval/early post-medieval period and were interpreted as the backfill of monastic fishponds. The second phase of evaluation established the presence of an early post-medieval layer, a layer of 18th century dumping and a ditch aligned south-east to north-west which was backfilled in the late medieval period.
