Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based study of areas affected by a proposed fourth crossing of the River Trent near Adbolton was undertaken. Areas of archaeological importance identified included the (largely) deserted medieval village of Adbolton, three palaeochannels potentially containing palaeoenvironmental materials, three scatters of flintwork, a sub-rectangular enclosure of presumed Roman date, a possible prehistoric ring-ditch, the plot of Simkins Farm which may have contained medieval buildings, and an area of either early park or later developed "parkland" at Colwick Park. {italon}AIP SMR Primary Record Numbers: {italoff}779, 779a, 779b |
