Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment identified that the proposal site was formerley part of the estate of the medieval Priory of St James and, pre-1723, was known as 'The Montagues', later Joblins Leaze. The site appeared to have been developed for housing by about 1723 and terracing of the site probably occured when this development was undertaken. The 17th century and later buildings were replaced by commercial properties during the 1960's. [Auth adap] |
