Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken following the granting of outline planning permission for the residential development of the site. Thirteen trenches were investigated revealing a small number of archaeological features. Five prehistoric linear features were found, only one of which was more closely dated to the ?Late Bronze Age. These were probably boundary or drainage ditches which may have related to agricultural land use. Two small circular features were also recorded, one was interpreted as a prehistoric fire pit, whilst the second was impossible to accurately date or identify. The limited amount of features discovered and associated artefacts were not indicative of particularly dense or significant archaeology on the site. [Au(abr)] |
