Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of the conversion of a fire station and yard into a library. Little archaeological work had been carried out in the surrounding area, and none had occurred within the core of late Saxon and medieval Bridport. During the evaluation, the remains of two phases of buildings were identified. These were dated to the late medieval or early post-medieval period and to the post-medieval, and were likely to have been ancillary buildings behind the street frontage. No artefacts were found.
