Abstract: |
Monitoring work was carried out on two areas of the water main renewal where topsoil stripping entailed the excavation of 6m wide trenches. These areas were from Cook's Green to Cross Green and Water Run to Loose Hall Drive. The monitoring successfully identified a known cottage site, but also identified three new possible medieval habitation sites. Various features associated with the pre-20th century field pattern were also identified - mainly infilled ditches and cobbles or rubble-infilled entries to fields or yards. [Au(abr)] |
