Abstract: |
The evaluation was undertaken on the site prior to the proposed construction of a three-storey block of flats. Features dating to the early Roman occupation of the town were identified in both trenches. These features had been sealed by a mid second-century 'dark earth' layer that had protected them from subsequent truncation by development during the 19th century and the 1970's. [Au(abr)] |
