Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken on the sinking of two boreholes. Archaeological deposits from the Roman to the post-medieval are known from previous work in the area. The boreholes show that extensive archaeological deposits survive. Wood chippings discovered are similar to those found in 12th century properties in adjacent sites. Nearer the waterfront archaeological deposits seem less obvious, it is possible that part of the area was once in the river. [Au(abr)] |
