Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in response to a condition upon planning permission for the residential redevelopment of the site. The evaluation revealed the presence of a number of boundary ditches/drainage ditches of late medieval and post-medieval/modern date. The ditches followed the same broad, co-axial layout of property boundaries that could be seen today to the rear of the High Street. A single ditch in the northern part of the site yielded Late Iron Age pottery sherds, indicative of activity of this date in the vicinity. [Au(abr)]
