Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at the construction site of an open arena on a former school playground. Several Palaeolithic findspots and a Roman marble coffin had been recorded in the surrounding area. During the watching brief 19th century glasshouse waste, presumably imported as hardcore, was observed. Nineteenth century refuse pits were also found. Pottery, glass and a coin or token of the 16th or 17th century were recovered.[AIP] |
