Abstract: |
An evaluation of 12ha of arable land on the southern tip of a large sandhill on the edge of back peat fen comprised fieldwalking, metal detectoring and trenching. Flint tools of Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age date; Bronze Age, Saxon and medieval pottery and a cast copper alloy axe of the Early Bronze Age were found. Excavation showed no evidence for surviving prehistoric features. [Au(abr)] |
